Hey guys! I originally didn’t plan to write another episode for Coffee Talks, but last minute changes happened. In fact, I’d planned to shoot some outfits for the blog, write a few posts for my looks, and do some classes. Well, all that’s out the window and I’m heading to Texas. Hurah!
Life likes to do that a lot, huh? You have everything planned and prepared, and life drops a bombshell on you. Nothing really bombshell-ey happened to me, but rather small ones. It’s funny how all the small, tiny events can lead to major changes without you even noticing.
For example, several months ago I applied for VIPkids, an online teaching program to teach english to Chinese students. I made it all the way to the mock interview. Just as I was about to enter my mock classroom for the final process, my internet decided not to. In fact, it never entered once. I tried countless times and days to enter. I even tried using my hotspot, but nothing.
So God told me no to VIPkids.
Bummer.
Well, a few months later, last month in fact, my best friend was searching for an online job. I introduced her to the same program. She passed every interview and mock classroom with flying colors. Guess what. They didn’t hire her.
Why? All because she didn’t have a Bachelor’s degree. Bummer again.
Thankfully, my best friend isn’t a quitter. She kept searching for another teaching program until she discovered Palfish. It’s just like VIPkids except it’s a phone app. Which means you teach through the phone versus a laptop. So she not only passed her interview but she started teaching immediately.
She introduced the app to me, and urged me to apply. After several days, I passed my interviews. I’ve been teaching for one month doing the bare minimum hours, and I absolutely love it. I mean getting up at 4:30 am is tough and going to a full time day job right after is even tougher, but it’s opened my mind and future. I plan to do this full time. First, I’ll have to make some hard decision but I’ll spare you the details.
Why am telling you this? Because if I didn’t discover Vipkids, I would’t be teaching on Palfish. You can see how the little changes, little decisions led to this point. It’s funny how God works huh?
I guess what I’m getting at is, change is coming. Change is happening, and I’m making some changes for myself and learning to embrace it.
You know, I originally didn’t plan to write about Palfish. But it seemed right. You get me? Basically what I’m saying is go with the flow.
So if you’re interested in teaching for Palfish or curious about it, email me or let me know and I’ll help you out!
